Lox takes the timeless still life subject and symbolism of the skull, so emphatically aligned with popular culture, rock 'n' roll, fashion and death, and gives it a faithful attention in his illustration and digital work. His artworks not only make one laugh but poke a bit of fun at the over-use of the skull motif in today's culture, yet to simplistic and beautiful effect. The works also offer as Lox says, a "celebration of life and death" and have formed a strong subject matter throughout his work as an artist so far.
More recently Lox has been exploring new subject matter as well as giving the everyday motifs of the web a new, if not darker, lease of life that prompts the viewer to ponder their innate grip on our lives.
